Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

fully stocked?

Hey guys and gals.

Just a quick question for my 125g, I currently have 5 dwarf plecos, 2 geophagus red head trapajos, 1 featherfin, 3 black ruby barbs, 6 corys, 1 three spot and 2 gold gouramis, 6 kuhli loaches and 4 clown loaches.

I think thats everyone lol, I was going to get 1 more geophagus but after that am I over stocked or close to it?

I also like the look of bolivian rams and was thinking of a pair (I think I am catching the cichlid bug ) but if not then I am close to my goal of getting a new tank so can start a peaceful cichlid one up or something!

Looking forward to your comments x

I would say you could get the extra Geo for sure.

If you were to ditch the clowns and plecos there would be lots you could do I would think.

I would never just ditch an animal like that I get attached too quickly!!

I have been told by my bf though that I can have a 200g tank in a few months so I can move fish around.

Back to the topic, I can fit 1 more geophagus and thats it for now right? No bolivian rams?

Hello Diggly. You have a lot going on in your tank. It sounds wonderful. Personally I would consider your tank fully stocked. Your Clown Loaches alone are going to grow to 12 inches a piece. Until you have that nice 200g sitting in your living room and know for a fact that you'll be rehousing some as you've mentioned, I would stop. Keep an eye on your cycle readings and keep up with your water changes. Enjoy the fish that you have and continue with the plans on the 200g.

Did I miss your photo thread?

Photo thread is incoming I promise!!

I figured it was close to fully stocked if not already thats why I asked lol aww well I will have to keep aiming for the 200g tank and planning that to keep me busy! I was thinking of a fubu puffer tank, my bf really likes them and i like them too plus it could be something different (or disastrous )

Well I was originally planning on moving the fish from the 125g to the 200g but they are happy in there so I am in 2 minds about stressing them out unnecessarily.

Watch this space for a stocking for a 200g tank, I have no idea what fish I want for it lol.
