Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Funny mixed

Since fish keeping experience is to try new stuff and see if it works, and since i work at a LFS, if there was ani problem i would put it back. So tried addeding 1 angel with barbs and 1 puffer figure 8 as well.

Guess what so far so good !

Yeah, I know but since I have a lot of plants and I have a big playground place, thing should be ok, monitoriing them, it's their 2nd week together and both eating both active.

That really sounds like your begging for disaster to strike. I personally wouldn't experiment with combinations of fish that are known to not get along well. I'm not sure what would be gained from the experience. Either one or all are going to be injured and stressed, or if by some miracle they're not, it would still be too much of an anomaly to risk recommending.

Guys I'm taking them out if ani signs or injury's, mal nutrition, on bullying is happening,
just don't forget that I have a 150G and when I say I have a lot of plants, I have a lot. It is a community tank.

This tank has a little bit of uniodinized salt and according to this website, Figure 8 tolerate some full freshwater but does best in brackish. Source:

Angels & barbs should NOT have salt in the water....a puffer should be kept in a real brackish tank with other puffers. You're putting the lives of your fish at risk, and IMO that's very cruel.

Yeah amanda your right angel and barbs shouldn't have salt in water, about the figure 8 puffer, I might take it back this weekend, but Figure eight and dwarf doesn't have to be in need to be in brackish water. But this is another debate.

and the Figure 8 are one of the most well behave specie of his kinds.

Trying to study the both sides of the medal before returning it.

Guys, I really appreciate your help

Depending on the source, the can live on brackish or freshwater aquarium, I just did a water change to remove the salt just for safety.

I have a figure 8 puffer who has been living in harmony with my discus and angelfish for just over a year now. I also have a large aquarium with lots of hiding places and etc. They all get along great...I agree with chopstick that the figure eight puffer is the most well behaved puffer u will find. As far as being cruel not at all! I recently relocated my figure 8 puffer to a 20 gallon brackish tank.. now that he is over a year old. The only reason why I moved him was because everything I have researched on the figure eight puffers states that as they mature they should be brackish. I have never had any bullying, fin nipping etc. So chopstick if I were u I would keep the figure eight right where he is and enjoy.....

Figure 8s can tolerate freshwater as juveniles but as they get older they need brackish water.

Your work in a lfs and dont know this? personally I would avoid your shop.
