Hi everyone,
So my 55 gallon tank, which has been set up for almost 3 months, has a big problem with diatoms. I am thinking about adding a few ottos to help, as teh snails don't seem to be able to keep up.
I've never had ottos before but have done lots of research. Some places I read said that their impact on bioload is almost non-existent. I'm wondering if that is really the case? Because I am already a bit overstocked.
Also, I am wondering about mildly aggressive tankmates? I do have angelfish, bolivian rams and a dwarf guorami. Would ottos be a bad idea with these semi aggressive fish?
And should I wait another month or two until my tank isn't so new? (I used media from another tank to cycle it so it cycled fast and it's been very stable.
ammonia and
nitrite at 0 and Nitrates stay around 10.
Thanks for the input.
