Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Me and my stocking plans...

... life was so much easier when I just had betta's.
Ok so I've got two subtropical tanks set up. One is a 20 gal that I was planning to stock with 7 WCMM and 6 Bronze cory's (extra filtration). The other is a 56 gal that I was going to stock with 3 fancy goldies.

Well as of right now I only have 1 goldie and the 20 gal has everything but the last 3 cory's... could I move the 20 gal stock over to the 56 gal and still add one more goldie?
Would there be any compatibility issues?

Thanks,
Red

i feel ya! bettas are alot easier on the brain LOL

Hmm... some may disagree, but thats ok.

It would really depend on the size of charlie. The WCMM are rather small, but as long as they are introduced while he is still young the chances are he wont eat them later. But, then again, i could be wrong. Cory's and goldies are ok together, i know gremlin keeps them and she hasnt had a problem (that i know of LOL). I remember you were thinking about substrate. Have you decided yet? I know Joy has goldies and has a thin layer of sand at the bottom that is easy on the Syphoning and it could still be good for the cory's... I think you would be alright with the whole set up, as long as you keep up with maintinance (not that you dont )

I was thinking that instead of sand or gravel I'd maybe go with large river stone (if you know what I mean) that would still keep it fairly easy to clean and have a bunch of little cracks for the Cory's to snoop around in. I suppose I could always just more the Cory's over and leave the WCMM behind but since I want to add a paradise fish to that tank I'm not sure that they would be ok there.

ooh! river stones are awesome! Ken has them in his 265 and they look really nice! although with his fish they look tiny haha! Maybe you can make little tunnels and caves in between the stones LOL and it would be alot easier to siphon as well!
