I plan on having pea gravel and artificial plants/driftwood, hopefully these fish can fair well in my tank and without the real plants..

Will it be alright for my tank?

Hi mibro, depends on how big the tank is? But all of those fish will get along fine.

Its a 29 gallon tank! And I edited my aquarium profile but there wasn't much to do because I haven't gotten anything going too much, like I don't have the test kit and whatnot just yet. I just got my tank

That's a nice stocking list. What do you plan on using to cycle your tank?

Thankyou! If i can get my hands on some pure ammonia I'll probably go with that method, seems the most prevalent throughout all my research. ammonia + no fish = happy tank later on I suppose?

That's true, If you want to speedy up your cycle, can get your hands on Tetra SafeStart or Superbac? They finish the cycle within 7-10 days but of course you need to stock the tank at the same time you add the products.

Oh really, so add the fish with the tetra safestart stuff? I thought I read somewhere it doesnt work as well? Have you tried it?

I used Superbac and it worked really well! Just add the appropriate stock with the directions given for the right size tank. I heard many successes with TSS and the ones I heard that were unsuccessful were b/c they kept the bottle warm and or the date was near expiration. They have a shelf life of 1 year b/c of the live bacteria the bottles contained.

Great advice above. About the stocking list, IMO, I'd have all the cardinals, cherry barbs and cories in a school each of 6. They do very well in schools. Have you bought the tank yet? Maybe consider getting a lil' bit bigger tank for the schools? Just my opinion and a suggestion.
