Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Stocking Question - Angel Fish

Hi all, I was wondering if you thought it would be OK to add an angelfish or two to this tank. Should there be any aggression problems with anybody?

Tank :75 Gallon
pH: 7.2
ammonia: 0
nitrite :0
nitrate: 20
Temp: 80

1 Red-tailed shark
3 Dwarf Neon Rainbows
2 gold dojos
2 botia striatas
6 neon tetras
5 bloodfin tetras
4 cories
1 common pleco (rescued)

The angels are compatible with all the fish except the bloodfin's. They are notorious fin nippers especially long fins like angels! With neons you might get away with it but not too sure! I wouldn't put an angel in there.

I agree with eiginh. If you really want, you could get the angels their own tank It'll look really nice. Maybe one pair with some snails or shrimps. Sounds like one of my dream tanks. haha

all tetras are fin nippers..but in the right school ling size, and tank size, they usually dont bother with others...both of which you have.maybe even add a few more to your tetra school unless you plan on keeping yoru common plec rescue? ..the only worries I would think would matter is that your angels may think of your neons as a snack...but if they are juvie angels, or adult angels with a ton of plants for the neons to get away, probably less likely to happen...I think it would be a great addition but you are going to have to keep an extra water change in there or so, as you are at the max bioload wise with your rescue
