| 125G stocking Sorry about this again but I cant find my old one!!
Current fish are 4 clown loaches, 6 plecos (and about 3 pleco fry all plecs are midget variety), 3 Gouramis - one 3 spot and 2 gold, 3 black ruby barbs, 1 rainbow shark, 2 panda cories (getting 4 more), 1 featherfin, 3 kuhli loaches (getting 3-6 more) - I reluctantly reloated my cherry barbs into my bettas tank after I noticed 2 were missing, I think my featherfin had a nice snack! Cherry barbs and bettas are getting on really well and so far there has been no flaring.
I believe that is everyone (apart from my 3 otos )
I want a list of fish that you think will be suitable and I will make a decision from that. I dont want any more bottom dwellers - not that I dont love them but I have so many already!! The LFS said Bala sharks, bolivian / german blue rams, mollies and a few other fish. I want a middle dweller really as the middle looks a bit bare .
I am also thinking about a few snails / shrimps that will turn the sand so I would appreciate reccomendations on those too .
Thanks in advance and once I have my new babies I will be posting a pic of both tanks!! |

| Malaysian Trumpet Snails are good sand stirrers, I wouldn't get any shrimps b/c they would get snacked on by the barbs. Bala sharks are more mid-bottom dwellers but they really need a long tank. Do you like zebra danios? |

| Yes I do like the Zebra danios but they only grow to 2 inches and I think my syno might snack on them too . I will have to get a picture of him he is such an amazing fish. The only problem with the snails is the clown loaches, they like to eat snails that hitchhike in on plants would they do the same to other types?
Shawnie- can you just delete the other one? Its out of date now anyway and I decided I dont want your fish advice you would sabotage me into getting a malawi tank . |

| Doh! I forgot about the clown loaches. You're going to have to manually stir your sand b/c clown loaches will eat all your snails. I know you don't want bottom dwellers but a good species that'll stir your sand are kuhli loaches. |

| Haha!!! my brain is farting In that case your kuhli loaches will be fine. Colombian tetras get about 3 inches will they fit inside your featherfin's mouth? |

| No they should be fine, they look quite wide too! My featherfin was 1 inch when I bought him 4 months ago and was so small I thought he was dead for about 2 months as I never saw him! You can imagine my surprise when a 6 inch monster emerged haha! He is now 7 inches .
Serpae tetras have caught my eye too. I was after something bigger but is that a no with the gouramis? |

| I noticed that cherry barbs arent on that list .
I am more worried about the gouramis than the syno if I am honest. |

| Worried about other species getting along with your gourami or being fin nipped? |

| I am worried the gourami will bully. I know they can be aggressive. Mine seem laid back atm but then my tank is quite heavily planted and they are still quite young. |

| I think I read from a different thread that gourami's bully species with large fins or that look like them. |

| 1 siamese flying fox/algae eater, 3 corys, 1 angelfish, 5 ghost/grass shrimps, 1 mystery snail, 1 olive snail they don't really pester any one. Gourami's usually bully other gourami's when they are invading their territories, since your planning on getting dwarf gouramis in a 125g that is plenty of space. Just have a lot of decor or plants where they can have their own territories. |

| Im not planning on any more gouramis. I have 3 gouramis in there now and none are dwarfs one is a 3 spot and the other 2 are golds. There is no aggression at the moment but then my tank is planted with long plants and alot of caves and tuber etc.
How does your angel get on with them? I love angelfish but I have read good and bad things about keeping angels and gouramis together so I am very interested in hearing how yours do. |

| Angel is fine with sparkling's. The Sparklings usually hang in mid-bottom and the angel hang from high-mid sometimes to the bottom to chase shrimp pellets. He's going to be hanging out in my 10g until I find him a bigger home.
Sorry I thought you wanted a DG, must of been a diff. thread. |

| I have a lot of different species lol so I will let you off!
Do you think angels will be fine with the tank? I have attached a pic of it when i first got it, I have added alot more plants and caves since!! It looks alot better. |

| I don't think they'll do well with the barbs, they'll nip his fins until there are non left! |

| I can relocate the barbs to a different tank so thats not a problem. |

Thanks in advance and once I have my new babies I will be posting a pic of both tanks!! | First off, MTS are great for churning the sand and clean up duties. Shrimp won't last long enough to have an impact.
I agree with getting 6 more kuhlis, but the featherfin is a wild card.
I would get 6 more black ruby barbs, as well as 10 more corys to make 12. Panda are the smallest of the full sized corys, so I'd be worried about the featherfin snacking on them.
An african knife would be a great where's waldo fish, is for the most part community safe, stays under 10 inches and eats prepared foods.
I would also do dwarf neon rainbows - at least 12.
I might also add gold barbs, since they are bigger than the cherries, to fill out the middle - like 10. However, since you already have a barb in there, maybe you want some tetras. Buenos aires are large enough to not get eaten, as well as congos ($$). |

| The featherfin turned out to be a pleasant mistake - the LFS told me he would only grow to 4 inches lol but he is so beautiful and only cost me £3, I think he is getting close to full size now s/he is about 7".
I have some caves that the corys can hide in that the syno cant get into same as the kuhlis etc.
I would happily add another 10 corys I love them!! and I might see more of my kuhlis if I added 6 more.
Snails are out of the question with the loaches I am afraid! so maybe if I up the kuhli loach population it would cover it!
Edit: I can move the 3 barbs into a seperate tank depending on the fish I get. Last edited by Diggly; October 16th, 2009 at 01:03 PM.
