| Hi Zeek, the tank sounds great but unfortunatly the stocking list you have will WAY overstock the tank, you might want to think about narrowing it down a bit. A have a 90gal Cichlid tank with 1 Oscar, 1 Jack Dempsey, 1 Green Severum, 3 Jewels and 1 Convict, and this is still a little overstocked!
Sorry Zeek, I mis-read your post, thought you were goibg to stock ALL those fish! |

| His last sentence before the list, he stated he is keeping 3 of the species in the tank, he is asking which is the best out of the list to keep in the 80 gallon. |

| Ok, sorry about that. As for stocking, forget the Red Devil, he'll kill anything else you put in! I had a Blue Acara in my tank but he couldn't stand up for himself so he lives with my Angels and Kribs now, so I wouldn't reccommend him either. |

| Here's my
Oscar JD
Severum
I love my convicts, but with the amount of room you'll have in that tank, bigger is definitely better The oscar and JD will give you a lot of personality, for sure. I'm not familiar enough with the severum personality, but they are BEAUTIFUL! |

| Severums have great personality! Mine behaves just like my Oscar, always coming to the front of the tank to beg for food. He's a lot less aggressive though! |

| Oscars! They aren't glittery colored but I like the orange and black colored ones! We had one but my dad kept him in a 40 gallon so he became very aggressive. I think he lived for about 5-6 years, poor guy. |

| I'm not familiar with Salvini Cichlids, Texas Cichlids get pretty big, however I've read that until they reach 4 or 5 inchs that it's not a good idea to keep them with other Cichlids as they tend to get beat up pretty badly or even killed. If I was stocking your tank I'd get a Dempsey, a Severum, a Green Terror and a pair of Convicts. I'd get wait until the other fish got bigger until I added the Convicts though, as if you get a pair they will be very aggressive and attack the other fish. |

| If you wanted to go with the salvini and texas, I would add a JD into the mix because out of your list, its probably the only one that will be able to hold its own. I have heard of many people keeping Texas with tank mates, but they are boisterous aggressive fish so their tank mates need to be chosen carefully. If possible, I would get them all very young and let them grow up together.
If I were to choose from your list, I would go with the following:
1 Oscar
1 Severum
1 JD
Good luck with the new tank! |

| I would say yes, but you will need very heavy filtration and large weekly water changes to keep up with the bioload. I would go with a con instead of a salvini. Salvinis can be little terrors and your sev and oscar wouldn't be happy. I would also try to get all the same sex which would decrease your chances of having aggression issues. |

| Hello Cichlidkid. As for your filtration I suggest having at least 800gph for the large fish that you want to keep. (if not more) I think 2 Aqua Clear 110's with 500gph each would do nicely giving you 1000gph. I have 2 of these filters and I'm really impressed with their performance. Lots of room for bio media and very easy access.
Best of luck!

| I don't know anything about their compatibility, but after seeing Shawnie's JD, I have to recommend one of those and then deciding on the others depending on their compatibility with the JD. Heehee but I'm sure whatever you decide will be amazing! I'm already excited for your pictures! |

You should also check ebay. I just ordered my filter off of there and I got it for $150 less than the regular retail price. A lot of the sellers are reputable wholesale dealers, offer a 7 day return policy, and guarantee their products. |
