Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

I say 2 or 3 more. Are you planning on adding anything else?

You might be a bit over stocked with 3 more Cories. Getting 1 or 2 more is fine. It's great that you're planning to get more Cories since they love and prefer to be in a school of at least 6. Keep us posted.

Good morning Dreamseller. I think you would be fine with 2 or 3 mores Cory Cats. Just keep on top of your water chemistry and water changes.
Best of luck!

That's a shame cause they are awesome fish. If you are getting them in person, a ratio of 1m:3f is good, or you can get all males or all females without a problem. Buying online, you can ask but that doesn't mean you'll recieve. You might be able to trade fish with your LFS to get the right mix. You could look at aquabid - I bet you could get 6 for $50 with shipping (priority, not overnight).

I agree that you can add 2 or 3 more cories. Your bioload on your shrimp is low and albino corys will swim all over the perimeter of the tank. You may want to be cautious about any additional stocking after the corys, though. And definitely keep an eye on your water parameters and stay on top of your water changes.

i know it sucks i cant get the dwarf rainbows but i know they like schools and i dont think i could fit that many in my tank with my other fish that i have and shipping to canada is alot lol

plus my pearl gourami is just a baby and i want to give her enough room to grow up healthy and unstressed.... the rainbows might be way to active for her to deal with cause she is so shy

but i definately think im going to pick up at least 2 cories today im soooo excited their definately my favourite fish <3

I keep a school of 8 with a pair of pearls in a 45, no problem. Save up for a bigger tank
