Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Look good?

Hey Everyone! Im New 2 FishLore but have a decent understanding of aquariums. My 29gal tank has just finished its cycle and I think I have my stocking list ready.

Cardinal Teras(10)
Otocinclus Catfish(3 or 4)
Boesemani Rainbow(2)
Angel fish(2)

I will probably add these in order over time. About 2 or 3 fish every 2 weeks.

Tell Me What yall think. any advice or anything will be helpful. Thank yall!

Welcome to the site!

My opinion I wouldn't put 2 angels in 29gal, I just don't think there is enough room.
If you do as they grow they may or may not snack on your cardinal's, and if they pair up by chance you will have many problems.
The rainbows should work as they shouldn't get more than about 3.5" or so.
I would wait about 6 months to add any otto's as they require a very well established tank.

Welcome to FishLore! Anyways, you will be kinda overstocked. But I bet you could get around it if you have good filtration and do weekly water changes, you should be good. If you don't have good filtration and/or can't do weekly water changes.
But the angels could pose a problem down the road. First of all there just isn't even space for them in a 29 gallon (IMO). The ottos are very sensitive to water quality. They need a very established tank. So I would hold off on them for now too.
