Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

29 gal.

Hi again!
I think I've come up with a good stock plan in regards to my newish 29gal tank.
Here's what I'm thinking,

I've already got 6 Danios (three glo, three reg. zebra)
and I want to add,
2 Greman Blue Rams,
3-4 coreys, (maybe two panda, two albino),
3-4 otto's,
and possibly a Dwarf Gourami.

Does this sound good? I won't be adding them all at once, probably in the order I listed them, with two to three weeks in between.

Maybe some shrimp? I'm switching to pool filter sand substrate tomorrow.

Beware of the rams. Sometimes they only want one per tank. I had to separate my bolivians because they just refuse to get along. Just be prepared with a backup plan in case of problems

Otherwise, it looks great! Hopefully, you'll be able to post pics!

Your stocking list looks good. I agree with Bolivian about the rams. And the cory's will be happier if in a school, so maybe getting at least 6 of them? Hope to see pics soon. Good luck!

That's cool! I could do 6 cory's and only one GBR.
There should be no problem with different species of cory's schooling together right?

We have 5 albino corys and 4 false julii corys in my 55 gallon. They "hang out" together as different species, but really don't "school" together as different species. Other members may have different experiences, though. IMO, you could get three of two different species.
