Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

A school of neons/cardinals would look great. Maybe 25. Or Blood parrots. Is it going to be tropical fish or cold water?

A pair of krib cichlids might be good, along with a BN Pleco or two? And mabye some barbs. And I think Bloody Parrots need at least a 50 gallon, and a hecka good filter!! Parrots are very messy.

i respectfully disagree. The Bp's will be ok there for a couple of moths, but they do grow to 10" so they need at least 55g. I already asked about them since i am trying to stock a 32 gal as well, and they will need more room.

German Blue Ram Cichlids. They are a type of dwarf cichlid that is more peaceful than other cichlids except around spawning time.

Hi Shell! I haven't seen you on the forum in a while!

What type of fish do you like/dislike? Do you want cichlids, community fish, a mix? Also, what are the dimensions of your tank? Know these things can help me give you some good suggestions. BTW, I think that a pair of fancy goldies would be great in the 30 long as well

Sorry it was quite depressing giving up all my fish when the hubby got sick and we lost out house Have missed you all!!
But here's my new tank measurements 36" x 18" x 12" ,I like the goldies Mollies and guppy's and simular livebearers, except I do not want to deal with fry (lol)
I do not know anything about cichlids, don't really care for tetras, would really like to have more than one fish per tank (LOL) unlike my 10 betta tanks from the past (LOL)

I love the looks of the 30 long.
Perhaps a couple of goldies and dojo loach. They prefer cooler water, same as a goldy.

So if I go with this idea the 2 goldies and 1 dojo loach wont be to much for the 30 gallon (long)and I read somewhere that dojo's don't like to be alone?would a pair be ok?what would you recommend for the substrate?for both species?
