Do you think I could fit a Severum?

I have a 55 gal tank here is the set up.

Sand substrate Planted lots of rock caves and some wood.

2 blue acara Breeding pair.
6 Red eye tetras
3 Julii cory cat
1 female Medusa pleco

I would like to add 2 more Red eyes 3 pepper corys and a male BN pleco. I would also like to add one more Cichlid. I was thinking a Severum but I am not sure the tank is big enough for one.

So how about this...
2 blue acara Breeding pair.
6 Red eye tetras
3 Julii cory cat
3 pepper corys
1 BN pleco
1 green severum
1 female Medusa pleco ( I might rehome this fish because I never see her. she only comes out at night. What fun is that)

I think if you def have a pair of acaras they may pick on the new sev. Sevs are pretty shy docile fish if you ask me, some may also say a 55 is too small for one. You could try it but from my experience blue acaras are pretty tough, I actually use 3-4" blue acaras for dithers with some of my pairs since they are pretty tough and can take quite a bit of abuse.

Yeah I have a pair they just started their second batch. My blue acaras are not normal. last batch the mother took over all responsibility for the fry once they hatched. she would chase the male way. This time the male took over and keeps the female away. They are young only 3". I was thinking getting another cichlid would be good for them.

In my opinion all it will do is give your pair something to focus their aggression on when they spawn.
