| Can i Add Angels? Hi this is my first forum post.
I had a 36 gallon tnak for about a year now, which contianed
2 pearl gourami's
5 corydoras,
2 platy's
2 swordtails
numerous guppies
but my friend could no longer look after his fish so i took them on since no-opn would buy them
now i have the above and
1 plecostomus
3 silver sharks
3 clown loaches
3 zebra loaches
2 polka dot loaches
they are all still small and i change part of the water every day since i know that the pleco poops alot.
My question is, i have always wanted angelfish, and my 100 gallon is in it's 1st week of fishless cycling, can i put the plecostomus, 3 bala's, 3 clown loaches and 2-4 angels in or would that be to crowded. I really don't want to give up the fish, since they will only be in the hideously corwded 36 gallon tank for a couple months more. I don't mind waiting for angels, until i buy the 250 gallons, i just want to know if that would be okay or not.
Since i understanad that plecostomus are huge poop machines and will probably have the two external filters i have atm working on full capacity, and also when he is moved to the 100 gallon.
I will keep the 36 gallon for the
2 pearl gourami's
5 corydoras,
2 platy's
2 swordtails
numerous guppies
Please tell me if i am doing something wrong or not thank you |

| I am also new to the forum. Angels will be fine. I have a similar combination to you and my Angels have survived for a long time. |

Although all those fish will get along, 3 bala's will take up the 100 gals and wont leave you much room although they take awhile to grow, they will need the 250 sooner than later...for the short term, you could have the bala's(if they are juvies) , loaches, 1 plec, and your angels in the 100 gal...
how are you cycling ? all those fish in the 36 gal, are not going to make it for a couple months in there...if they dont pass from lack of space, their internal organs are going to be severely stunted .... |

None of them have been sick at all, i have loads of plants in there to help with the overcrowding, and the water parameters are fine.
The temp is at 80 degrees, the loaches have been groing really slowly because they were given to me with skinny disease, so they have only recently started to get bigger and the biggest is about 2 inches. the biggest shark is maybe 3-4 inches i think havn't really been able to measure him he moves so fast.
I know they wont last very long in there, i jsut didn't want to see them be killed and thrown out by my firend since no-one would buy them. Could i maybe add the bacteria you can get to my 100 gallon to speed up the cycling, did that with my 36 and added fish straight after, none died.
Would i be able to add the pleco after doing that, Allowing time to acclimatise to the new tank. Atleast then my biggest and mosst polluting fish will be out of the small tank, or is he too much of a bioload ot add at the start?
Thanks for your advice, |

Thanks for your advice, | When you say fishless cycling, have you been adding ammonia or some other source to the 100 gal? yes you could add TSS but you would need 2 bottles...that would be about $43 here...I would get 2 for up to 75 gal with that bioload if it were me..and id move the 3 bala's and a plec...but, depending on whats already in the 100 gal for an ammonia source , depends on if you should add TSS .... |

I don't mind getting 2 for up to a 75 gal since it is only about 6 punds per bottle at MLFs so then i can add the pleco, and after a week or so should i then add the bala's, then the clown's since they are the most sensitive?
Thanks for the advice |
