Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Angels?

I'm wondering if I would be able to add a/a few angels to my 75 gallon. Current stock is Boesmani and Red Iranian Rainbows, a Chalceus, Moonlight Gourami, Opaline Gourami, Kissing Gourami (who is growing like crazy!), a black ghost knife, red tailed shark, and a zebra loach. I'm more so asking about compatibility than bio-load, as I've had this stock in my tank for several months now and water parameters are staying well within check because of all the plants.

Also, if it would be possible to add angels, how many? I know I should get a/some juvis to avoid unnecessary aggression, but it it possible to just keep 1? Or should I really have a pair, or a trio? Any suggestions and past experiences welcome!

I think you could hold a pair in there.(but whats a Chalceuslol?)..and it would add some great life to the tank....if you decide to do so, watch a tank of angels at your LFS and take the two that hang out the most together.......check the pH in the bag of water they come home in compared to the water in your tank and make sure if theres a huge difference, that you acclimate them slowly with your tank water....in my purchases of angels, the pairs work better for loneliness and getting juvies and having to give some away, broke my heart..so I started getting the two that were always together goodluck!

Thanks for the info Shawnie! I'll be sure to do that. My LFS buys their angels from a local breeder, so they have all sizes, so I'll look for a "pair" in the tank.

A Chalceus is a very cool fish that my LFS carries a lot because the guy who does the stocking loves them, and he showed me one and "twisted my arm" to get one lol. Here's a link: http://badmanstropicalfish.com/profiles/profile77.html
