| Stocking Ideas for wife's 12g nanocube - freshwater Hello,
My wife would like ideas for her newly cycled (fishless) nano cube. It's got tahitian moon sand and artificial decorations and plants. Current is pretty high as these tanks are usually set up for mini reef's.
Any ideas for this ready for fish 12 gallon nano cube?
Thanks in advance,

| Assuming you are looking for freshwater stocking options, there is a lot you could do in there. What kinds of fish are you looking for? Schooling fish, bright color, personality? |

| Sorry, its a freshwater tank. Tank water parameters are 76F and 7.1 pH.
She is looking for some colorful fish with movement. Maybe some with personalities. Maybe some that would love to play in the tahitian moon sand.
One's that won't outgrow the tank. No problem with tank maintenance as I will do pwc and cleanings every two weeks. We have four tanks and I calender everything.

| Kuhuli loaches would love the sand. Platys would stand out beautifully on the dark sand! |

| Cories would be great with the sand too. I agree with Amanda, platies would look great. A dwarf gourami would also be a pretty and colorful addition |

| 3 Kuhlii Loachs or 3 Pygmy Corys with a school of Tetras...Cardinals, Black Neon, Glolight or Gold Tetra. |

| Wow, she can't believe how fast you guys respond and offer great ideas.
She likes the cory and tetra idea. We have some glolight's and they have been great fish.
Keep the ideas coming,

| I think corys will be great - they love sand, and are cute, and personality fish.
I'd say 6 Tetras and 3 Corys would be nice, but better for the fish would be 5 small corys (Pandas, Leopards, Pygmys or Dwarfs) and 3 male platys as corys are gregarious and are happiest in big groups.
EDIT: I would be hesitant to add gouramis though, since they don't like strong currents. Also for consideration instead of tetras are cherry barbs and harlequin rasboras! |

| Thanks all for the ideas. She has decided on tetras and cory cats or tetras and khuli loaches. Looking like some blood fin tetras, probably 4, and some type of bottom dwellers. I vote for the cats as have them in my 75 and they are great little fish.
