After I move my community fish to the 55g, I'm going to have an empty 29g. I'd like to make this one a species only tank. Some of the options I've thought of are:

2 Figure 8's
3 Red eyed puffers
6-8 Dwarf puffers
2 goldfish

Any more ideas? I don't think I want cichlids. Anyone else have any ideas for a species only tank?

I would like to dedicate a 20-30 gallon for African Dwarf Frogs ... I have a soft spot for them... maybe that is an option for you ... it would have to be a tight lid though ...

Figure 8s would need brackish water ... I have one in a 22 gallon and that is pushing the limit ... you could put lots of bumblebee gobies (brackish) in that tank....

I like the red eye puffer idea ... but I think 2 would be your limit in 29 gallons ... mine is a character!

You could try massive school of fish - either some Rasboras (Espe's are really neat, if you can find them), a lot of Male Endeler's Livebearers, a massive Tetra school (Serpae's or Black phantoms would rule!) or something else in a jungle of hygrophila, vallisnera and cryptocorynes!
