this will be my first cichlid tank and im just checking with the masters to see if this list would make an acceptable
mbuna tank.
my intentions are to 'overstock' the tank to reduce aggressive tendencies. the tank is quite over filtered, so i think i should be alright with all these fish, for filtration im running a JBJ
canister filter rated for up to 150g tanks. if that doesnt cut it im fully prepared to add on my emperor 280 which is rated for up to 60g (i believe).
i have about 6-8 caves built out of slate and the substrate is about 3" of generic 'natural' looking gravel (white, tan, brown). there are a few silk plants to add additional cover and hiding as well.
heres the list -
Yellow Tail Acei - 2m/4f
Rusty Cichlid - 2m/4f
Yellow Lab - 2m/4f
Pseudotropheus saulosi - 2m/4f
it would probably be better to have 1m/5f for all the species, but i thought i would see what the thoughts were.
