Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Open stocking ideas 41G and 29G.

ok. 41 G and 29 G.

here's what i HAVE currently in the 29 and will be keeping.

4 Harlequin Rasboras.
1 Glowlite Tetra.
1 Pepper Cory.
3 Ghost Shrimp.

the 41 G is cycling. pool filter sand substrate.

I'll give you my ideas, and see where you guys run with them.

29G
5 Harlequins.
4 Glowlites.
3 Pepper Cories.
1 Sparkling Gourami.
2 Otos.
5 Ghost Shrimp.

41G
3 GBR. 2 Female, 1 Male.
3 Angels.
1 Pearl Gourami.
4 Otos.
10 Cherry Red Shrimp.

Both tanks will have cured driftwood and a decent array of plants.

personally i would just go with EITHER the cories or the otos, and then get three of whichever you choose. that way you can get 6 harlequins, 6 glowlights, 3 cories/otos, one sparkling gourami, and then the ghost shrimp and you'd be pretty fully stocked

for this, you'll probably only want 2 GBRs, and you'll definitely only want 2 angels. that way you can have pairs. with the angels, if two start spawning the third will probably get killed. also, i would get either 3 or 5 otos, for some reason they prefer being in odd numbered groups

generally you'll have to either buy a proven breeding pair (which can get expensive), or you have to buy six juvenile angels, and wait for a pair to emerge from the six.

the only way to be 100% sure of the sex is to watch them during spawning
