Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

IMO that would be too small for a bolivian, they get to four inches and although that wouldn't necessarily overstock the tank, the footprint isn't very large.

maybe a pair of borelli's dwarf cichlids?

here are some other suggestions

the thing is borelli's hard to find and i don't want to pay an extra $29-30 for shipping its rediculous but i was thinking a bolivian ram and three cories if it gets crowded i could just add my ram to my 63g

I wouldn't put a ram with your typical "bottom feeding" fish in that small of a tank. All of my rams stay at the bottom of the tank 90% of the time, so I would bet that you'd develop a territory issue in a 10 gallon. You might want to consider a dwarf gourami for a community setup, or you could do dwarf puffers or two bettas (if you divide the tank, of course). Since you mentioned it, a ram or two would fit right in with your 63 gallon stock...they're more on the semi-aggressive side just like the rest of the fish you've got in there. Best of luck.

You can put just about anything you want with a DG in a 10 gallon other than another DG...there will definitely be territory issues between them in that small of a tank. The DG and three cories would be cute if you were still thinking along those lines (you mentioned the ram and three cories earlier).

well today i ended up buying two swordtails because the aquarium store lady told me that they would produce enough waste to help my plants can i still put a DG and three cories in

Definitely not...the lady was right, swordtails are big waste producers, but they also grow to around 4" each. They will likely need more space than a 10 gallon as they mature, and I wouldn't put anything else with them.

They grow very quickly...the first girl I got grew at least an inch in the first month I had her. As long as you're prepared.
