Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Tank number 7............

Bought another tank today, a 20gal cube with built in filter and light. I don't need it but it was too cheap to turn down! Anyway, any ideas on stocking? Oh, and I can't get Puffers in NZ Pink, so you'll have to suggest something else......

hmmm......for 20 gallons.....pearl gourami, rummynose tetras, and corycats

or a pair of german blue rams or bolivian with the tetras and corycats or something like that

maybe some keyhole cichlids? they might get too big though...

oh what i could do with an extra 20 gallon

But.... but....

Please remind me never to move to New Zealand. It must be such a sad place. Not a puffer in sight

Ok fine.... were you wanting FW or SW?
Maybe like some little planted whoop-de-doo with cardinals and cories...
Or some little clownfishes... how exciting...
Sorry, i'm just pouting :P

Hmmm, I'm thinking it might be a nice home for my Kribs. With a sand substrate and a few caves. Then maybe replace the Kribs in the 39gal with a couple of Rams...........

Nice and simple. My Kribs are having it all to themselves. I've done a sand substrate, adding a few rocks and their cave from the 39gal, and filled it up and added the Kribs! They're hiding in the cave at the moment, but I'm sure they'll be out by morning! I think I'm going to replace them with a pair of Rams in the 39gal...........

What about a planted tank full of tiny fish?

You could do:
6 Pygmy Cories
2 Honey Dwarf Gouramis
10 Red Cherry Shrimp
4 Otos
6 Ember Tetras, Dwarf Rasboras, Dwarf Platies (any schooling fish that doesn't get over an inch long)
