Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Tiger barbs? Pictus?

Would tiger barbs be alright in my 55 gal.? The info is in my sig. I may getting rid of the last BR parrot, I already sold one back today.
He wasn't thriving in my tank, he was too shy. So, for his own good I sold him.
So, would tiger barbs be alright (6+) & possibly 2 pictus?
What else would fit? I was looking at black/white skirt tetras.
Of course, this is a long ways down the road, after the ICH is gone.
Just bounce off some ideas on me, I'm going to be doing a lot of research in the nect month.
Also, if you have any ideas for a 20 gal. I'm torn between a mating pair of convicts or a community.
Thanks!!

Tigers would deifinately hold their own in that set up. But the dwarf gouramis long tendrels may be tempting for the nipping behavior they are most known for. But if you keep them in groups of 6-7 or more, they would be far too occupied chasing each other around the tank to notice those tempting gourami fins.

But the pictus cats will definately be an exciting addition to your tank! If Shawnie comes around she'll be able to tell you alot about them.

Yeah, you would have to watch them, Tigers, with the Angelfish and Gourmai.

I love Pictus Catfish! They are neat looking and so active!! I'm gonna get me two when I get my 55 gal recycled again. I had a problem and lost a bunch of my fish including 2 Pictus 2 weeks ago. They each had their own hiding spot! And would go and visit each other. That was funny! Chace anybody out who came in!!! lol Tip: They do get stuck in nets easy due to barbs on their fins.

they stick to the bottom mostly..i have mine with cories, tigers, and they havent bothered them...if you have the smaller sized danios, they may snack on them ...when i said they went with anything, I should have said anything not smaller than a few inches..sowwy

Hmmm... well I bought 5 danios. 1 is already missing & one is missing a tail. Ahhhh!
These fish, I swear. I don't know who could have possibly killed a danio, I can't even find a body.
