Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Not much. Some shrimp and plants. Or maybe a betta?

i agree with nick goody, a 2.5 is pretty small, i keep two of my bettas in their own 2.5s, but i really wish that i had gotten 5s instead.

2.5s really aren't worth the money, for everything that i bought for mine (10 for the tank 16 for the heater 16 for the filter, decorations, gravel etc) and NOT including a hood, i could have just gotten two more of my favorite 5 gallon kits.

(it says $45 on the site, but if you just sign up for a pet perks card which is completely free in the store it's only $36)

A 2.5gal is really really small. A betta, or shrimp colony are about your only options! I'd try and get the 5gal that Agabr reccomended - then you'de be able to keep a trio of male endler's livebearers, 6 Ember tetras, a honey gourami, 2 cherry barbs... And a lot more!
