Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Angels, Kribs and Others

Ok, the new 39gal is up and running. I put 2 Kribs, 7 Neons and a Bristlenose in today. I'm thinking about adding my 2 Angels as well. Any issues with the Kribs? Also any other ideas of fish would be appreciated!

Angels, when full gorwn, will eat your neons. And, they may have issues with the kribs, but you can't really tell if they will get along until they're acctualy together as they all have distinct personalitys.

I just moved them into the new tank. I'll see how they do with the Kribs before making a permanent decision. My Neons are nearly fully grown, and the Angels are only Juveniles so there shouldn't be any issues there for a while.

You do have to be very careful though - if the angels are raised with tetras, they might not eat them, but its best to have a back-up (extra space in another tank etc.) plan in case they start getting munched.

I just noticed that in your aquarium info it says 'breeding pair of kribs' - when kribs breed they will chase all the other fish to the other side of the tank, and kill a lot of them to defend their fry, even if the fish they kill is innocent.
