Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

What to add?

Well, I will soon probably getting rid of my 2 remaining neons. That will leave my tank with 1 male platy and 3 amano shrimp. Any ideas as to what I should add? The tank is planted btw. Thanks!

I would say betta, but then you'd have to get rid of the platy too.
You could always just add 2 female platys.

I thought about getting a beta, but I don't want him to attack my shrimp, maybe a female beta. I don't really want to have fry as I have no where to put them. I don't really want cories, I like them its just that I have already had a 3 in the tank. Any other ideas?

There would be no fry unless you bred your fish.
A female betta would be great in a 10 gal.!

ya, but having a male platy and a female platy in the same tank WILL most likely bred... no matter what.

What about zebra danios, guppies and other tetras?

be warned, female bettas can be just as aggressive (if not more so) than males! my bigger female betta, hera, is practically a whale when compared to my other bettas, even the boys! and she can be very, very aggressive!
