I'm looking into buying a 20 gallon tank fairly soon (maybe a month or two from now), and am looking for any suggestions people have. Unfortunately, I've been banned from getting a fifth betta so I was wondering what people think would be good choices for this tank. Currently I have guppies, mollies, corycats, and bettas in various tanks, so something other than those would be preferable (except maybe the cory cats, I love those little guys).

Some of my thoughts so far have been
- dwarf puffers (not sure how many would be suitable)
- one gourami (not sure which kind) and a couple of cory cats, otos, or maybe a bristlenose pleco or other small variety
- tiger barbs, just because I like the look of them
- pair of angelfish

Any thoughts?
Any other ideas?

If you want to do a pair of angels, it would have to be a 20 gallon tall tank. A species tank of tiger barbs would work as well if you like the look of them. I think you could do two or three dwarf puffers in 20 gallons, but don't quote me on that. You could only really do dwarf gouramis in a 20 gallon tank....the "next size up" is a pearl, and they would do much better in a 30 gallon tank.

Right, I knew the pearl would be too big and unfortunately that's my favorite...which is why I'm having a little trouble narrowing down the type of gourami I might want to something more specific.

Also, how do people feel about bumblebee gobies and dwarf puffers together?

Tiger barbs get pretty husky and they do enjoy their swimming room. I would suggest that they need about a 30 gallon tank for a shoal. If you want some gouramis you should look into sparkling gouramis, I have 4 right now and they are awesome! They each have their own little personalitys and you can really tell them apart.
