| (semi)Aggressive Fish tank I'm redoing some of my tanks. I have a tank that is fully cycled and everything is going fine. I'm moving some fish around and have a question as to what I can do with the tank. I'm keeping the Dwarf Honey Sunset gourmi. I'd like to make it an aggressive or semi-aggressive tank. It is 20 gallons. Any suggestions? |

| you could try a rainbow shark but it might be a bit too big for the 20 gallon |

| maybe some tiger and green barbs, that would make it an aggressive tank, maybe you should take a look at this compatability chart: http://elmersaquarium.com/c106communityinfo.htm that may give you guys some ideas. |

| If I did 9 tiger barbs with the gourmi would that be over crowding?
are there any Cichlids that I could use |

| in the 20? yeah, how about 3 tiger barbs and 3 green barbs? |

| maybe I was kind of hoping that there might be a small cichlid that would work. I'm going to be going out later so I'll see what my LFS and petsmart have |

| well, I think that you could get a blue ram cichlid, only one though because a pair needs a complete 20 gallons to themselves. |

| You could keep a pair of German Rams or maybe a pair some sort of apistos
here is a link to a site with some different apistos http://fish.mongabay.com/apistogramma.htm
that would be without the gourami though. |

| yeah, good advice anglefish220, she would have to get rid of the gourami |

| for the rainbow shark (as with most freshwater sharks), i think you need at least 55+ gallons |

| | Fish Keeper
| yeah, I don't recommend the rainbow shark for a 20 gallon, it will outgrow a 20 quite fast |

| I know. I don't have space in my big tank which would be ideal but I'm going to try and put a male swordtail school in it. |

| | Fish Keeper
| maybe you could put the swordtails in the 20? just a friendly suggestion! |

| well I have one mollie, 12 tetras, 1 pleco (something that doesn't get bigger than 9ins forgot what), 3 rasboras, 1 glow light danio, 3 Hoplo cats. Not really space for much else. |

| Ok I've decided to go with the gourmi, some barbs, and maybe some danios. Any suggestions? Would I be able to have a red tail shark? |

| | Fish Mentor
| I wouldnt suggest a RTS, I'm pretty sure they get bigger than that.
how about the gourami and a 6 school cherry barbs? they stay smaller than tigers.
or you could do gourami and like a 8 fish school of danios. |

| maybe. I'm just trying to think what would be flashyish |

| I would be afraid the gourami would be harrassed in that tank... From Badman's Tropical Fish:
"Colorful and timid, the Honey gourami is more demanding than most and is best kept with slow peaceful species." |

| What about 3 cherry males (I know how to tell the differance) and a few harlequin rasboras? |

| | Fish Master
| Gourmi and some Cory's? Let the Gourmi be the flashy fish and the Cory's give the tank some activity.
A school of 6 Tiger Barbs would be over stock with the gourmi
(I appologise for my spelling) |

| A honey gourami is going to get harassed in a semi aggressive tank...they're very shy fish that need a peaceful setup. |

| i got some fish. I'm going to monitor the tank and if I see harassment I'll remove them. I'd like to definatly have some cherries though |

| Sorry if I came off a little rude. I've been stressed and cranky.
For the tank I got 3 peppered cories. I have 2 bright red cherry barbs (i'm assuming male) I plan on getting 2 more bright red ones when I can find them. |

| I think most cherrys should be fine, because I thought that the red was just when they were ready for breeding that they got bright red.. |

| I know but problems develop from improper ratios. So I figured just get only bright red ones and I'm safe. I'm naming them after the three musketeers |
