Need some suggestions

Right now I have a 29g with 6 giant danios, a rubbernose pleco and 18 algea eating shrimp. I have another 29g with a RTS and 8 tiger barbs. I bought a 55g tank the other day. Since I don't have the room or the electrical outlets to run all these tanks, I need to take one of the 29g tanks down and merge it with the 55 and add some more fish to it. Or give the fish in one of the 29g tanks to the pet store and start over with the 55g.

What would you do in my situation??

firstly, the tank would need to be cycled, please read the aquarium notrogen cycle article! I would tear down one of the 29 gals, its your choice which, then I would use the filter and old media on the new 55 gallon to almost instantly cycle it. then I would put the pleco, 1/2 the algae eating shrimp, and the RTS in the 55 gallon, you could also add some other fish to the 55 gal. tank. then the 29 gfallon could be a schooling only fish tank (with danios and tiger barbs) have fun with the new tank! -fishlover78

Those shrimp might become a snack for that RTS, or possibly the tiger barbs. I would take the one with the tiger barbs and RTS down and get a whole bunch more tiger barbs... just a big school of tiger barbs and that RTS.

I was planning on using filter media, decorations and some gravel from the other tanks to jump start the cycle in the 55g.

If I put the danios and tiger barbs in 1 29 gallon tank it would be overstocked.

Ok, so the Danios, pleco and shrimp are going in the new 55g. What would be some good additions to the tank?

?? Anyone? Can anyone tell me what other kinds of fish would go well with giant danios other than tiger barbs and red tailed sharks?
