Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Hmm..How Many Bumblebee Gobies?

Hello
I have an extra 2 gallon tank and was wondering how many bumblebee gobies I can fit in there. Can anyone answer my question?
Thank youu!

Not many, and you wouldn't get to see the interaction they are known for. Each needs part of the bottom of the tank to be happy. In a 2g, you could house one, maybe two. I don't think they'd be happy with that few of them.

I agree... you'd be better off with maybe some shrimp or something...

Oh okay, I'll pick something else then. Thank you so much for letting me know!

Hello!!
I do believe the Bumblebee Gobies need brackish water to be happy. One of species can live in freshwater but would be much happier in brackish. They are also pretty territorial. I'm pretty sure this is correct but wait on someone else to comment before making any decisions.

Thank you everyone!
I think I will consider the ghost shrimp.
