45 gallon Tank
Ok guys ive FINNALLY got my tank setup (filter, heater, light, water) and im ready to add fish, well after i cycle the tank. Heres what i was thinking, and note im going for a schooling effect so theres always movement and color.
-6 Zebra Danios
-6 Neon tetras
-1 african dwarf frog
-1 Angelfish Maybe or something fairly big. ( my grandmother is insistent on buying me a fish that she can call hers in the tank)

Angels will eat neons when full grown. Even full grown neons.
I'd replace the neons with Black neons, and add 2 more schools of 6 2" fish to that.

Not if they are raised together they won't. We had 10 neons/5 diamond and 8 black skirts in with our 10 angelfish for like 8 months before the change up.

Are they all full grown, out of interest? I have heard that a few times before, but since it gave nothing about age of both fish it is hard to tell if it's true or not. Obviously a 2" Angel won't snack on neons!

Clown plecos are just about the most different fish out there, ful o personality and help with algae if you decide not to risk the angels.

A common pleco you see walmart pushing off on people buying 10 gallon tanks will get hugangous. Clown pleco's tend to max out around 5".

Remember, Gouramis are currently carrying a virus called Iridivious. It's basically a virus that has no cure, and you can't detect it until it strikes. It comes from inbreeding in Asia - that's where almost all gourami come from. The problem is, it can species hop... If you can find gouramis locally bred, you should be OK.

Why I think a Clown pleco would be a good alternative.

Would the pleco go well with corys? beacause i was considering those as well, my plan right now is 7 danios, 7 tetras, and about 4-5 corys

I really suggest you do not put a dwarf frog in there.
Not only is the tank too deep for one, but they have very poor eyesight take some time to find and eat their their food. It wouldn't have a chance with the other fish in there grabbing everything.
These frogs are adorable, but really should be in a shallower species tank just for them!

Plecos are as peaceful as corys are. Very compatible.
