Will I be overstocked?

Okay..so about 3 weeks ago I was very set on my stocking plan for my 55g. I wanted to get (2) schools of "smaller" fish and (2) Angels. So I went ahead and picked up (6) Neon Tetras and a week or so later picked up another (6) Dwarf Neon Rainbowfish.
But recently, I've spent a decent amount of time at my LFS and online and have really fallen in love with these stinkin' Corys. I'm looking to get some Panda or Skunk (i think skunk??) because they stay a little on the smaller side.
I'm trying to decide what to do? I still have my heart set on a couple of Angels (so they will come eventually) and my two schools of fish are "technically" for my daughters, so they have to stay too. Plus I like em both too. Will I end up being overstocked. HELP!! lol

Quick Recap:
Current Fish
(6) Neon Tetras
(6) Dwarf Neon Rainbows

Future Fish (hopefully)
(2) Angels
(4-6) Corys

Thanks in advance for the help!

IMO you will be fine with the additional 2 angels and 4 cories...but id worry more about the angels having a tetra or two for a snack.......so you will be taking a chance with that...angels are so awesome and such angelic fish...cories rock and are such active and adorable fish...goodluck!

Hi

1 inch of adult fish = 1 gallon so that said, the total for the list above is approx 54 gallons = stocked.

However I would like to point out that Angels are likely to see Neons as food and the Neons could go missing, any fish above 2" should be safe from Angels, but they may be safe.

Hope this helps :-)

Thanks for the input guys. Since this is my first experience with fish EVER, I just want to make sure that I am doing things correctly.

And yes, I do know about the potential "fate" of my Tetras and Angels. I hadn't really planned on Neon Tetras, but my daughter picked them out. How do you tell a 3 yr old that she can't get the "shiney blue and red fishy" I hope for her sake, they can all just get along.

On a side note...picking fish for my 1 yr old was much simpler. Showed her the tank of Dwarf Neon Rainbows in the store and said "here's you new fishies!"

Yikes...I can feel my MTS starting to bubble up!!!
