I got a 55 gallon going on. 5 tiger barbs, 5 neon tetras, 3 guppies and a snail. I want to add about 10 more neons. I read somewhere it will have a cool effect. Any suggestions? I love watching the tank but I must admit I want a little more action. Also, how do you know when your tank is overstocked?

You have plenty of space for 10 more neon tetras.

There are general guidelines based on which fish you put in there and how much minimal room each fish needs plus how they get along together.

while you do have plenty of space for more neon tetras i think you should consider getting at least one, maybe 2, more tiger barbs; as in the long run in a group of less then 6 they are likely to nip at fins (especially the guppies).
