New Tank?

Hey!

I've been thinking of getting a new tank for a while now but I just have to ask how big should I go and what fish and plants should I get? I would like a variety of fish this time around instead of keeping just one kind! Anysugestions for fish, plants, filters, pumps, heaters, decore?

community is perfect for a variety of fish. a good sized tank such as 29 gallons or more is good for a thriving community. The bigger the tank, the more stable the conditions, whatever is in your financial limitations.

Aquaclear has always been reliable to me when it comes to filters, and any good quality heater with a thermostat will be good.

Consider driftwood found at your LFS and river rocks for decorations (boil rocks to kill off any bacteria that might already be colonized so to not introduce unknown organisms to your tank)

As for fish, depending on your tank size, I would reccomend (depending on which route you wanna go) small schooling fish like neons, guppies, and rasboras, or more active fish like danios, platies, and larger rasboras.

I use the visi therm stealth heaters. I have 3 and the only problem I've had was user error. lol
They're shatter proof and guaranteed for life.

If I had the money, I would go for about a 55-70 gallon tank and make it a semi-aggressive community tank. I mean like a school of 15-20 tiger barbs a couple red-fin sharks and well planted, thats my realistic dream tank. But if you want a more peaceful community, I'd get a 55 gallon tank and get a nice school of cories, 6-8 cherry barbs, a school of a tetra of your choice, 2 BN plecos, and possibly a pair of pearl/blue/gold gouramis. or maybe just a single of those. Or you could get a angel! YOUR CHOICES ARE ENDLESS!!!!

Get the biggest tank you have room for and can afford.Once you have decided on that, then you can work on what accessories you will need.
