Hi jordan, what type of fish are you interested in?
Take a look at some of their profiles and tank requirements and the right hand side of this page:
http://www.fishlore.com/
Edit: Oops, I didn't realize you had 2 threads about the same topic. Sticking to one thread is less confusing for everyone.
Edit again: Oh, you have 2 tanks you're stocking? A 29g and a 20g? If so disregard my first edit and maybe I should go back to bed. lol

Schooling fish (No bigger than 2"), corys, small gouramis, male Livebearers, Killifish, Dwarf cichlids and Shrimp are good things ot have in a 20gal - but not all at once!

It depends a lot on what you're looking for.
I agree with Lucy, take a look at the profiles (or look on liveaquaria.com for a wider variety), come back with some broad ideas, and then we can help you come up with a workable plan and alternatives if necessary.

I would get a pair of kribs, keyholes, or something. Danios have no personality...they swim around like people bouncing around at a rave lol

So, 10 Neons, 1 Pearl gourami? Only get gouramis if you can get them from somewhere who doesn't import from asia, because labyrinth fish imported from asia often carry an impossible to see (until the symptoms appear) virus called Iridivious, which there is no known cure for at the moment. If you can't find non asian gouramis, male Swordtails or perhaps a Kribensis cichlid would work.

Dwarf gouramis are the worst hit by iridivious - most Pearls are safe (Although there are a few iridivious carrying pearls - perhaps 25% of all captive ones) but DG's are almost always affected. Honey gouramis are about as safe as Pearls, but not really worth the risk IMO. You can get different colour swords as well. I would go for Swords even if you can find non asian gouramis (I doubt you will) because they are so active and neons could possibly spook gouramis. (I've seen Neons nip at the feelers of gouramis)

neons and gouramis are a bad idea...esp pearls as they arent aggressive, and the neons will take advantage of that
