Is this your post?
No arguing here, just a friendly debate about show tanks... but I guess we did hijack a little lol, sorry

Kids...Kids... You're all wrong...

Just kidding. You're all right, as is often the case in semantics arguments.

I'm sorry, cognizant, about the hijacking of your thread. I'm going to be a little less subtle about defusing this argument this time. It is done. If anyone wants to continue this discussion, I'll splinter the "show vs accent" part into a separate thread. Otherwise, let it die so people can continue arguing about whether or not a firemouth cichlid can be kept on its own (which does have direct relevance to the thread's original topic)

Calm down folks. We agree to disagree, everyone has their opinions. Allie is entitled to hers just as much as i am mine, but that doesn't mean i am going to blast her for it. Show tanks range in size and what you are showing, heck i consider my discus tank a show tank.....its bare but i am showing off my fish in it. Same with my 10gal SW nano. Point is, its personal preference and decision on what we consider a show tank.

I should say yes its possible to keep a lone firemouth, while it may not be the recommended method, yes it is possible.

In that case, what fish would go well with the pleco in the 29g tank? I don't want another community tank because the fish seemed so smalll they were somewhat hard to see when I was sitting across the room on the couch. I am looking for some decent size fish that can be kept in a 29g tank. Maybe a few that max out in size around 4-6 inches. Is that even possible?

In a 29g you really dont want fish that get much bigger than 2 to 3 inches max.... a 6 inch long fish is going to be really cramped in there even by itself
