Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

They do. But there isn't much that you could put in a 5 or 6 gal. tank. Maybe a few male guppies or neons. A single betta in a 5 or 6 gallon tank is perfect.

Ya, a betta is about the only thing that could work in that kind of tank. unless you get a colony of shrimp going?

Yes - gravel (not sand as they may try to eat it), plants (live or fake), filter & heater. And you have yourseld one happy betta. After you cycle the tank of course .
