Let's Try this again

Recently my fish tank had ich and i lost about half of my fish. Now the ich is gone and i am much more cautious with my fish. But i got some new ones. I got 2 gold gouramis and a white angel to go along with my 6 black and white skirts my pleco and my striped catfish is this a good combo....

What size tank is this? A pleco can grow to be over a foot, and needs a 75 gal. minimum.

that combo of fish is ok but your now fully stocked , the striped rapheal can also get big so find someone who can take him off you when he gets to big.

The rapheal cat should be OK, as long as he has LOTS of caves! Gouramis and Cichlids tend to be a volatile mix, so watch the angel and gouramis!

It would be easier for you to take pleco back now - not only emotionally but the bio load he produces as he gets larger would tip your tank out of balance!

You shouldn't need one. An algae eater is not the secret to algae control, good tank maintainence is!

So, you should not need one. But, if you can find a true SAE then I'd go for it as they eat almost all algaes.

I think a pleco is a good addition to any tank. A clown or bristlenose pleco would be ok in a 30 gal. tank. Algae is not always the easiest thing to get under control once it has a grip on your tank. The best way to keep it under control is to never let a bloom happen. A pleco would help prevent this.

Clowns get about 4 inches, and bristlenoses get about 5 inches. I have both, and I really enjoy them. Honestly I feel like as far as keeping algae under control, nothing does it better than a bristlenose pleco. Otos are very good for keeping algae under control too. They get to be 1.5 inches long and you would probably want to keep at least 4 together since they are happier in groups
