Stocking suggestions for 32 UK gallon tank..

hey everyone, i am soon gettin a 32G tank and am not certain on what i would like to stock it with, im stuck between 2 choices,
Amazon fish, e.g a shoal of cardinals and some angels
or
African cichlids.

I have no experience with african cichlids and these are what i would like to keep out of the two choices i have.
Can anyone suggest how many cichlids and what species please

For anyone who deosn't know - 32UK gals is 38 US ones.

I'd try an Angel with several schools of lager tetras.
