Question: Will a yellow spiny eel work in a community?

Today i wasl ooking around my local fish store deciding on what to get for my 32Gallon i am getting in about a week, and saw these cute 3-5 inch yellow spiny eels.
i was wondering if one of these would be ok in a tank of cardinals and other small amazon fish, the substrate is going to be sand so the eel would be able to bury itself.
Would one be ok in my new tank?

I believe they can get over a foot long and will most likely eat any smaller fish but thats just what little infomation I could find online.

As well, they are amazing escape artists.
They must be kept is tightly sealed tanks.

They will eat anything they can get in their mouths. They also get up to 10-12 inches in length. You would have to have an awfully big tank to keep just one, then i would only keep it in the tank with fish bigger than the mouth.
