29 gallon tank stocking.
Ok, I have an idea list of what kind of species I want, But I'm really not sure on how many of each, and weather I can add or not.
MY LIST (REVISED, AGAIN)
1 pearl gourami.
6 neon tetras
5 peppered Cories
5 rummy nosed tetras
4 ghost shrimp.
1 Siamese Algae eater shark.
6 African dwarf Frogs.
I also want an eel, a shark, and a barracuda, and frogs of some kind, but I'm not sure what kind of species will work together with what I already have listed. I'm still doing a lot of looking, but I know everything there likes a PH of ~6.0-7.0.
It's really going to make a difference on what kind of fish they sell at Petco, but they have a wide variety, I'm almost certain they have what I want.
So, any ideas of how to improve/enlarge my list?
EDIT: Heh... eels and barracudas aren't going to work.. shoulda seen that coming...
But! I found a Siamese algae eater shark, and that seems perfect, and what about ADF's? I've heared that ACF's will just off and kill anything and they need 30 gals per frog, but ADF's supposedly need only 2.5 gal's per frog, and their supposedly very friendly. Is there anything about them that I'm looking over?

... you didn't already start did you?
the stock is incompatible and overstocked. what do you want exactly, a community tank with peaceful fish like tetras and livebearers, a "caution" tank with sharks and barbs, or a specimen tank with a special cichlid(s)?

No, I haven't started yet. I am looking for a community tank with peaceful fish, maybe as I get more experience, I'll get a new tank for a caution tank. And yeah, I kinda realized the barras wouldn't work.
Ok, so If I had your list TFA, Would I be able to have any of the ADF's, and any of the ghost shrimp? And would taking one of the neon's and putting in the Pearl gourami work?
So my list would be:
7 neon tetras
3 Bronze Corydoras
5 Glo-Light Tetras
1 Pearl Gourami
3 or 4 ADF's
3 Ghost shrimp.
How's THAT look? Thanks for all your help, by the way.
EDIT: Went to the other site I'm on. Took ^ That, and made this
7 neon tetras
5 Bronze Corydoras
5 Glo-Light Tetras
1 Pearl Gourami
3 ADF's
4 Amano shrimp.

you see, a rule of thumb would be to use 1" worth of adult fish size per gallon. you have 29 gallons, so you could have 29" worth of fish/invertebrates in your tank.
For example, corydorases, which grow to about 3" can stock your tank with 8 members (3" per fish x 8 fish = 24 " of fish) you always want to go below your limit to not upset the bioload of your tank. SO I see youve taken interest in african dwarf frogs, so here's what I came up with:
2 African dwarf frogs >> 2.5" per frog and will occupy bottom levels = 5" total
3 Corydorases (Bronze, Albino, or Leopard, your choise >> 3"/each and will be cleanup crew = 9" total
7 Neon Tetras >> 1.2"/each and will provide activity for middle and upper areas = ~8" total
Total inches = ~22" of fish is used up and you have 7" to play around with
Suggestions to top it off would be:
3 cherry barbs
OR
A couple snails
OR
1 Pearl Gourami
OR
1 Dwarf Gourami
The shrimp may appear to your frogs as food, so they've been left out.

That... lookes perfect.....
Ok, (hopefully) final list:
2 African Dawrf Frogs
3 Bronze Corydoras
7 Neon Tetras
1 Pearl gourami
I'm loving it!
Ok, I thought about making a new topic for this, but it's still about stocking my 29 gal, so there's no need.
What about plants? Do they have an easy rule to go by? I'm really not very picky about plants, I know I need some kind of flloating plant, 'cause I read the frogs like to hang onto them whhen they suface, and I'd like plants that are in the general shape of a tree, but that's about as specific as I need to be. Any Ideas?
Thanks, TFA for explaining the rule for bioload to me. I'd seen it before, but it didn't make much sense.

Now you have narrowed down your stocking for your tank and are looking at plants, you are going to have to see how much light you have and the type of substrate you have before getting plants. If you have a stock light you will have to go with low light plants like java fern, java moss, crypt, and maybe you can get by with some sword plant that will stay small. For floating plants go with something like frogbit or red rooted floaters. Most floating plants do better without a cover on them I found out. Watersprite can be either floating or used as a stem plant, pretty easy to grow. Here is a site I go to check out plants www.plantgeek.net .
