This just reaffirms what we've been saying. There's no way to be sure you don't have a sick fish unless you get a locally bred one that has been isolated from any that have been shipped.
Seriously, if the folks who ship these fish out don't straighten this problem out, this disease could grow. Viruses are capable of mutating and hopping to even more species, given time and opportunity. Tell your local fish stores that you aren't going to buy DGs and why. If they stop ordering them, the original sellers will be forced to sort the issue out.

All very, very true. There is no way to tell from looking at DGs if they're sick, so we have to assume for our own safety that ALL DGs from Singapore are harbouring disease. My two looked the picture of health nearly til the end.
The only way to protest this is to stop financially supporting the propagation and importation of sick fish by southeast Asia, and the sale of them by our petstores, since the bottom line is profit & loss and only the loss of income will make someone pay attention.
For us buyers, not only are we risking our entire stock of fish, but we have to endure the distress of getting attached to our new pets, then watch them die while we can do nothing about it.

It's very upsetting
