need stocking ideas

I am getting a 30 gallon with lots of live plants and a nice big piece of drift wood. I really like shrimp and want to have lots of them so the fish cant be able to eat them. I'm set on getting Kuhlii Loaches and want 5-8 of them

I want at least one fish that has a personality. you know one that will come and look at me when i look into the tank. I'm really open about anything and everything. i have three really good fish stores near me so i can get my hands on almost anything under the sun.

so with the Kuhliis i have 10-16 inches already, what do yall think i should fill the rest up with?

Loaches, tons of shrimp, plants, and something that won't be dedicated to eradicating every last shrimp in the tank... You could go with a guorami of some sort, or have a small group of mollies, platies, or swords (my mollies always come out when I enter the room).
Not sure. I actually don't have all that many big personality fish, and the ones that I have are in dedicated tanks (goldfish and bettas), so I'm not a ton of help here.

You can do neons with whatever spare space you have. They look awesome in planted tanks. I particularly like the black neons.

A pair of angels sound great, although you'd want bigger shrimp for sure. Maybe vampire shrimp even.

i was leaning toward small shrimp like ghost and alamo shrimp i think angles would eat them.
what kinds of dwarf chiclides would work? or well have personalities?
i had never really thought of gormies are they fun?

i had considered moving my betta from his six gallon to the thirty but that cuts down on the other fish like tetras. he would leave them alone but they might shred him.

How about a Mono Argentis? Cool Looking fish?? or a Scat

The betta would likely be agitated by kuhlis (they're far too energetic), and I'm not sure about the neons. The betta would likely not be able to hurt them, but I don't know if they're fin-nippers. If they are, they would pester your betta forever.

Salvatore, I think a Scat is a brackish fish. I think they're also insect eaters, which means shrimp would likely end up on the menu.

You might be able to get away with a pair of dwarfs, but I wouldn't put any more than a single of the larger guorami in a 30g. They can get aggressive, especially if they don't have space to run from each other.
