Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

Now I have the right count. Please advise

Ok, everyone has settled down in the tank. I had posted last week a stocking question for our 140g. I have an accurate count now.
1-Pink Tail Chalceus
2-Clown loaches
2-Discus
8-neons
8-glow lights
1-glass cat
2-algae eaters(siamese}
3-rummy nose
2-gold tetras
3-cherry barbs{I just looked them up, not sure of this}bright red and small 1/2"

I've allowed at least 1 gal=1 inch for the fish, approx.100G so far. Is this correct? Our we overstocked? If not, our we able to put a few more glass cats in? Only one left after the tank dump.
Thanks for your time...Mary

I'd allow a bit of extra space for the discus, as they end up growing pretty massive (the entire fish ends up producing waste, so fish that are tall or wide as well as long take up more space), but most of the fish listed fit the guideline pretty well, so if your math is good (I don't know the lengths of all of the fish, so I can't do the math. Too lazy to look them up right now ), you can add a few more glass cats to give the remaining one some companions.
