Yes, I know how new I am to this fish hobby, but I already have MTS. But anyways, I have another thread about stocking my dream 55gal, but i also want a tank anywhere between 30-46 gal for only tetras.
Here's the plan so far:

5-7 Neons
5-7 Black Neons
6-10 Cardinals

Is that okay? And if there's more space what else could I put in, I want to keep them all about the same size just so there is a possibility of them all shoaling/schooling.

Also, as a side note I would be moving the neons I currently have to this tank and making my 29 gal a livebearers tank(I would maybe put in two guppies as a neon replacement)

7 neons- 10.5
7 black neons- 10.5
10 cardinals- 20

ya got 41 inches. the 46 gal would work but nothing else.

I did the top number for all though, so there could be wiggle room...

Okay, se definetly the 46 gal then. any other thoughts? I could always cut down on the size of each group, like instead of 7 of each, only do 5 of each then get 5 of another type of small tetra. I would like this tank to be a very colorful, active, tank. as many different types of tetras as possible with atleast 5 of each type, and i want extra room, like 2-5 inches left(not for more fish, just to give the fish more room).

well if you are getting fish of similar size you might be able to get away with 3 of each kind... since neons and cardinals look about the same I would switch the neons with serpae tetras, they are the same size.

well i already have a couple neons, as noted above, so it would be easier to keep them. how aboutbloodfin tetras and/or black phantom tetras?

both of those get 2 inches each, but are compatable with the others.

yeah, I keep switching between the two and I have to keep rereading the threads so I know I know everything that is happening

momo i see at least 3 different threads on stocking...you mite get more suggestions if you keep them all together on one and just ask about them all course like i said dont take much to confuse me
