i dont think the pleco is a good idea, they need a 55gal tank i believe(correct me if i'm wrong) dont they get to be 18" or so?

Yep the pleco has to go back to fish store. But everything else is good to go

the only reason I was wondering if my tank is overstocked is because I was thinking of getting some schooling fish to fil up the tank. I just did a tank remodeling so the tank looks really bare with the way I have it setup now. And the betta is the only one I see during the day : \

Excluding the pleco, your not overstocked, but I do hope you'll rethink adding anything else in the with betta and ottos.

A few members have had luck with a betta in a community tank, but many more have horror stories, too many to take a chance on IMHO.

but without the betta what kinda of fish could I get I was thinking about dwarf gouramis??

Dwarfs are great best kept one male 2 females so he wont harrass the single female to much two males in anything less than a 3 foot and they'll bicker over territory but most would say no more than one male. I have 1 male 2 females i've only had the male in 2 days and they are already spawning great to watch....unfortunatly he didnt build a nest. Oh its advisable to put the male in last.

it is very obvious, the males are bright colored the females look a little more drab

a dwarf gourami and betta are DEFINETLY not compatible in the same tank

chiclids that can grow up to 5 inch can be aggresive at feeding times shouldn't be kept with nippers for a bit more info go to the fishlore species section

One, or a breeding pair would fit, maybe, I'm not sure and dont have time to look up.
