Looking for stocking suggestions

I just got another 29g tank that I want to stock. Now I need suggestions. There is a possiblity that I might put my red tailed shark in this new tank. But since I have been hit hard with MTS I will likely end up buying another tank 55 gallon or larger within the next year.

So... help me out. I am looking for some fish that are pretty active. The tiger barbs are cool to watch in my other tank, but I don't want to have 2 tanks of them. And no live breeders in this tank. I have a 10g tank with guppies that will provide a protien rich treat for my tigers every month.

A good stock for twenty nine gallons nothing too big, something active, WITH a red tailed shark...

4 Bleeding Heart Tetras
3 Bronze Corydoras
1 Red Tailed Shark

OR

2 Pearl Gouramis (Mating pair)
1 Red Tailed Shark
3 Peppered Corydoras

OR

5 Black Tetras
3 Peppered Cories
1 Clown Pleco (Panaque Maccus)
1 Red Tailed Shark

Hope this helps!

There are alot of species of tetra that may go really well in that tank together.

I saw some Scissortail Rasboras at the store today and they look pretty cool. I also like the giant danios. I know I couldn't have them both but which fish would be happier in a tank like the one I have set up? I think I am just gonna keep the shark in its current tank until I get a 55g next year. I don't think I have to worry about it outgrowing the current tank in that time.

So what would be better in the new 29g, the scissortail rasboras or the Danios?

The danios will get relatively large, just about 6" a piece. The scissortails are one of the larger rabsoras, but they grow to 4". I'd choose the rasboras if you're considering saving space.

Everything that I have read about the danios says they get to be 4in as well, except fishlore. I'm not doubting fishlores knowledge base, but I have also never seen a 3in tiger barb.

I have already decided that I will end up getting a 55g or larger by next summer, so I am not concerned with space. When I get the new tank I will put the shark and some other fish in there. I know that both fish need swimming room, does anyone think that I should consider redecorating the tank a little so there is more open space, or is it good as is?

your elodea... or cambomba... or whatever it is is a great centerpiece for your tank, There is room for swimming on either side of it and there no need to redecorate

If you like the scissortails but think they get to big, I have silvertipped tetras and they have the same 'look' but stay smaller.
