| Re-stock or not to? Ideas..... H'lo
Any ideas of biggish fish that will fit in a 67gal? They should be plant safe tho.
I'm thinking of re-stocking my 67gal tank but not sure yet. So i'm checking what fish will be good to put in. Not too aggressive fish either and preferably compatable with other speices.
What are your ideas?
Why i'm considering this is because the fish i have are small you can't really see the fish unless you go upto the tank and that is not something you always want to do to watch your fish. Last edited by Sabi; March 23rd, 2008 at 01:26 PM.

| Perhaps some rainbowfish? I believe they vary in size from 2-5" and I do beleive peaceful schoolers. |

| I love CONGO Tetras.....there are some good pictures if you .....5 or 6 in a tank and some cories would be a lovely tank. They need to school, but are very peaceful, lovely fish. |

| I LOVE to watch my gouramis. They have character and 'fence' with their feelers when they cross each others territories. And what great colors!
Also - in a big tank - I would love to have maybe 5 silver dollars. Even from a distance their flat shiny sides would flash as they school back and forth in unison.
It was a tough decision for me between silver dollars and gouramis as my tanks 'center piece', but in a 29g... dwarf gouramis won out. Last edited by Bluefish; March 27th, 2008 at 08:33 AM.

Foe mid and top water fish i was thinking abt cichlids. What do you say about-
I take out my harlequin buddies and cherry barb, keep the tetras and add some of the following-
-Agassi dwarf cichlids
-Festive cichlids
-Masked Julies
-Nannacara anomala goldeneye dwarf cichlid
- about 3 congo tetras.
Which of the cichlids do you think will make good community fish? |

| Sorry, don't know much about the cichlids, but this looks like a beautiful setup. If you can find cichlids that work, everything else looks great. |

Carol | Um, meaning the cichlids would come to the bottom now and then specially when i put food in...?
I'm taking festive's off the list, they are kinda aggressive and an angel is enough aggression for one tank. |

| I believe most of the dwarf cichlids claim territory on the bottom(somebody correct me if that is wrong).

| Yup. That is what they do. I have a tank of viejeta cichlids, rams, and apistogramma borelli and they all hang out in caves on the bottom. |

| Doh! And here am i wondering how will they will share the bottom as they are not bottom dwellers. Dunno how that skipped my mind! Thanks!
The cories shouldn't be more than 5. 2 x rams/ golden eye and aggazzi dwarf cichlids. I think they will be enough. I do have rocks and an overturned plant pot for caves, do think there will be a problem between them and the cories? |

| I just read this thread and i see what you mean. I didn't think there aggression over territory will include other species. Interesting. |

Interesting. | You know how Angels keep everybody chased away after they spawn? The Dwarf cichlids are the very same way on the bottom. The only DC I have had experience with in a community tank was Rams and they tried to keep the bottom clear and they were the only bottom dwellers. whenever anybody from the top levels came down to the bottom they would chase them away. But they were only this way after spawning.

carol | Thanks Carol,
I understand what you are saying. I guess one pair will be better.
Just want to ask one question, will space not help at all? |

| Thanks, Allie. I'll keep that in mind.
Well, seeing as i have only one cory left , i can trade him for something at else at my LFS or keep him with my kuhli's in my 24gal. I was thinking 2 pairs of Dwarf cichlids would be better than 3 so as to leave more space for them to claim territory. Do you guys think this will work out better? |

Do you guys think this will work out better? | If I'm not mistaken Dwarf Cichlids need to be in trios. ! male and 2 females to keep the male from hasseling the female to death.
