Stocking A 30 Gallon Tank?

I asked about my 29 gallon a few days ago and all of the replies really help me and I am loving the fish. What would be some good tropical fish for a 30 gallon tank? And also how many fish should I add at a time. I am new to tropical fish & i'm sorry if i'm asking so many questions.

first cycle the tank. You know the nitrogen cycle from the 29 but it is good to be reminded. Now you want to add 1-2 fish at a time so you dont send the tank into a mini cycle. You could have a pair of angels and a school of danios. you could have a 'livebearer tank' and get guppies platies swordtails. its up to you, just make sure you dont over stock the tank 1in of fish= 1gal of water.

Never hesitate to ask any question, we all learn something new here almost everyday!

Well first off u wanna add about 4 at a time each about two weeks apart for about the first month then u can add em whenever.

As for fish, there is a lot of options.
You can get schoolers. These include tetras and barbs. Be careful with barbs though. If u get a community tank, You will only be able to get either gold or cherry barbs.
Livebearers are a great choice as are cories and danios.
Depending on what youre looking for.

Since you are a beginner those would be the recommended fish.

Hi!

Thanks for the compliments, Dano and Narcicius. If you see the male gourami chasing the female in #4 - don't worry. It's only natural - but with 3 females he shouldn't harrass only one female too much.

Is the difference between the male and female pearls bad. I've read that the females just aren't as vibrant. I would have to get females but I'm second guessing myself thinking I might miss out on fish that are way more attractive.
