hello everyone i am a new member here and i need some help with my new tank .I just set it up yesterday and today i got 2 Blue Gourami i will leave them for a little while but after reading it looks like i have 2 males . I am thinking to get some angel fish ,pearl gourami ,bala shark , maybe a pleco, dwarf gourami ,silver dollar, neon tetras let me know your opinion what i should mix and should not and should i take one of this blue gouramis and get a female or just add one in there ?

Since you have Gourami, you would want to avoid angels or more gourami. how big is your tank? the common pleco and bala sharks get to be very large.

If so then u have to go through the water cycling. If u don't know abt it then u can read abt it in this site.


The angels can get territorial after they grow up. The common pleco also gets very large but ur tank should be enough fnr it.
Besides that neon tetra has to b keep in schools. So think abt it.

Hello everyone i was haveing problems with my computer and i couldt get back to this site since i posted i just made a new post today .I have read around the board about the cycleing . I lost one angel fish since then and it looks like someone is going after one of the other angel fish now i 1 male and 3 female gouramis i took one of the females out last night and the fins are getn shorter on one angel fish i added 2 females and 1 male sword tail about a week ago becouse the gauramis were chaseing each other all over the place .
So i was told by a friend to add some sword tails i put 2 femals and one male i lost the male after a couple of days but he was kind of small i wast sure he would make it i got a bigger male yesterday and today i have a dead sword fish female . I am not sure if its my bala sharks or the gouramis .

How big did you say your tank was. It sounds pretty overstocked. Also I would not buy anymore fish since it seems as if they are all dying.....wait for someone else to post more help...
