Aquarium Stocking Questions Use this board for aquarium stocking questions. Do NOT follow the 1 inch per 1 gallon of aquarium water recommendation that you will often hear at the local fish store. Stock your freshwater aquarium lightly and sensibly and if you need help with stocking your tank post your questions on this aquarium stocking board.

55G Stock?

I was thinking about replanning my original idea if i get the tank of 2 angelfish, 2 Bristlenose plecos, 5-6 Cherry Barbs, 8 or so Kuhli Loaches and 6 Cherry Shrimp.

DEFINATELY IN TANK: 2 Angelfish, 5-6 Cherry Barbs, 6 Cherry Shrimp

I was thinking about switching the BN Plecos and Kuhlis out for something. Any comments and or suggestions would be appreciated.

A small school of corys would take over the bottom cleaning duties of the BNs, and a small school of otos would handle any algae in the tank. 4 or 5 of each would work.

There are other small plecos -- you want to be sure to get something that won't get too big.

Would a zebra pleco be too big? If not those are really cool looking fish

at $200 ea. they are a little expensive
clown plecos would be a great alternative...they eat algae, and extra foods, and they grow to around 4in
